Sozo

Sozo is a gentle, but powerful, Holy Spirit-led ministry that provides an opportunity for us to grow deeper in God and to resolve inner conflict, turmoil and pain. Although similar to Prayer Ministry, it is usually a one-off session that deals with any lies we may be believing about ourselves, Father God, Jesus and Holy Spirit, and with any wounds that may be hindering our connection with the Godhead and impeding our Christian walk.

What does ‘sozo’ mean?

Salvation

“If you confess with your mouth ‘Jesus is Lord’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved [sozo].” Romans 10:9

Healing

“But Jesus turning and seeing her said, ‘Daughter, take courage, your faith has made you well [sozo].’ At once the woman was made well [sozo].” Matthew 9:22

Deliverance

“Those who had seen it reported to them how the man who was demon possessed had been made well [sozo].” Luke 8:36

The Bethel Sozo ministry is a unique inner healing and deliverance ministry in which the main aim is to get to the root of things hindering your personal relationship with Father, Son and Holy Spirit, enabling you to walk in the destiny you’ve been called to.

Being made whole or well

The Sozo ministry originates from Bethel Church, Redding, California, where Bill Johnson is the senior pastor. The ministry was founded by Dawna DeSilva and Teresa Liebscher.

New Life Church is also a Bethel Sozo resource church which can support other churches. If you are a church leader and you and your leadership are supportive of the Sozo ministry, you can be trained in the ministry. We can support and mentor you with this.
